At YWAM Australia, we love to provide health care to people in some of the world's most rural and needy locations.
Through the use of a ship equipped with an onboard operating theatre, volunteer doctors, nurses, ship crew, and more are helping to address some of the Papua New Guinea's greatest health challenges such as malaria, HIV, and maternal and infant mortality rates
School children are getting involved by holding Spectacle Drives to offer eyesight to people in PNG; youth groups are planning short term overseas experiences to take part too. We'd love to have you join us as we partner with a nation to make a lasting change!
- 550,000 people in PNG are estimated to have low vision, correctable with spectacles
- Highest HIV in the Pacific Region – growing at 33% every year
- Maternal Mortality – as high as 1 in 7 women in rural areas will die during childbirth
- Malaria is one of the leading cause of illness and death
The missions world has lots of organisations and agencies, all offering tremendous opportunities to serve God worldwide. Here are a few aspects of YWAM Sydney.
* We offer a unique style of discipleship training that will prepare you for the rest of your life.
* We are a multicultural organisation with multicultural teams and centres.
* YWAM Sydney often works in small teams and in partnership with other missionary agencies and local churches… yet YWAM is the largest organisation of its kind, with some 17,500 full-time staff and 900 operating locations in over 160 nations.
* YWAM is always keen to pioneer new teams and ministries – we will consider the wildest and most adventurous ways of reaching those who are lost and needy.
* We are a group of Christians who seek to take the Gospel message across the world.

From time to time YWAM Sydney combines for citywide events, such as the YWAM Australia and PNG Ship Tour. We also get together on a social basis for fellowship and fun. “We remember with gratitude their dedication and gentle care for our severely wounded.
Without their support in such fearsome conditions many of us would not have survived during the critical struggles defeating the invading Japanese forces in World War II.”
